Houzz - False advertising- bait and switch
I have been waiting for a response on my request. Then someone from houzz just called & instead of following up- Mark was calling to see if I received my order???
After everything that has gone wrong- you really need to get it together!
So, as stated, this bedroom set is and was available at at least 2 locations for half the price I paid.
The reason I paid more and ordered from Houzz is that you advertised that your bed in this set is a platform bed, requiring no box spring- which is what I want.
The other 2 places that had the exact same set advertised that a box spring was required.
I called and spoke with salesperson karen at houzz and had her double check that the bed didnโt require a box spring. She confirmed it did not.
I received the nightstands a few days ago, unpackaged them and began using them. Then the chest came- same thing.
When the bed finally arrived- 3 hours late with no call & no one from houzz able to get ahold of the delivery company, it was not a platform bed, and required a box spring- which I didnโt have. So at 8pm at night, there wasnโt anyway to fix this so I slept on floor!!!
I would have bought the exact same set for half of the price...Again the reason I paid double at houzz is that I assumed a platform bed just cost more. The set was 2300 w/fees.
The other 2 stores are selling the same set for 1200 plus tax. Half!
No point in paying double- the point was to get a platform bed and this is not!
So, someone gave me a small credit to buy a box spring in the meantime while houzz was sorting out the matter, which I did.
I have the wrong bed, everything is unboxed and being used as I had no idea the bed houzz advertised and charged double for is not really what they were sending- a bit of a bait & switch.
Iโm having surgery next week. It seems at this point, picking up all this unboxed used furniture is not cost effective for houzz and paying double is not cost effective for me.
While houzz did issue a small credit, enough to cover a box spring I didnโt want and should not have needed, it still didnโt begin to cover what Iโve dealt with from late delivery to false advertising to price gauging.
Since I cannot be without a bed after surgery and now itโs too late to find another and have it delivered in time, my request is/was to credit me an additional $300 as the product was and still is being advertised incorrectly by houzz and we will call it even and I will pay to have this bed converted to a platform after my surgery.
Houzz replied that they donโt price match and would initiate a return but this would leave me with no bed for surgery or Iโm stuck paying double for a bed I didnโt really want in first place.
The credit I requested is fairly minimal and would bring the bed to a price I could sell it later and not lose out & get the platform bed I really wanted.
Houzz not only refused to help but sent an email saying they were closing the case.
They are still falsely advertising the product as of this morning. I would never buy from this company again!
They also continue to send me emails advertising after I have requested to opt out.
